What is Conflict Resolution?
The strategy used to determine which data should prevail when the same record is modified in multiple systems simultaneously.
Conflict resolution is essential for bidirectional sync. Common strategies include: Last Write Wins (most recent update wins), Source Wins (designated system always wins), Field-Level Resolution (different fields can have different winners), and Manual Review (flagging conflicts for human decision). The best strategy depends on your business needs. Financial data might require manual review, while contact details might use last write wins. Good conflict resolution also logs all conflicts for auditing.
